Big Help Music Art Development Music Without Boarders

Big Help Music is the UK’s leading Artist Development Record Label with almost 30 years proven ability at helping undiscovered artists establish their media and audience credibility and move forward in their music career. We are also a long standing member of The Association of Independent Record Labels (AIM) – and an official Chart Registered Label.

Artist Development requires a lot more expertise and time than merely booking studio time. We’ve been developing artists and making records for over 25 years.

Our work with emerging artists has been recognised by AIM, and the BPI (we were made members of the BRIT Awards Voting Academy) and the Royal Society of Arts (our founder Dutch Van Spall was made a Fellow of the RSA in 2014 in recognition of his support for young artists). We regularly lecture to University courses and provide panellists for conferences and festivals.  We are a YouTube partner company – which gives us direct access to their music support team, and we have similar relationships with Spotify and Facebook. You will also find us regular visitors at BBC Broadcasting House where we speak directly to the Heads of Music for R1, R2, 6 MUSIC, BBC Introducing – and that includes placing our artists’ CDs directly in their hands.

Many of our former development artists continue to join a line of successful career paths – either as performers or in a directly related role.  We can also claim a 100% success rate with our former technical and marketing interns. Yes .. we also train sound engineers, videographers and music management practitioners.

In addition to our development work we organise in excess of 50 concerts every year and co-operate with other promoters, agents and labels around the UK.  We are the founders of Folk on the Water – an acoustic style music festival now in it’s 9th year – and still the longest UK festival – 16 days. As well as running stages at Rugby Bike Festival, Rushfest, Scarecrow Festival, Festival of Culture – we also provide artists for larger events including the Godiva Festival, Birmingham Pride and many others.

Our artists have also appeared on TV shows since 2004 – including X-Factor, Britain’s Got Talent, The Voice UK, Junior Eurovision, CBBC, Making the Band, and many more …

We have our own sound production facilities, video production team, marketing and promotion, training facilities (our Big Help Academy started in 1998), and event management and technical team.
